Danish woman abducted, bound and driven 1,000 km from France to Denmark
A 47‑year‑old foreign man was taken into custody by Nordsjællands Politi after being accused of kidnapping a 47‑year‑old Danish woman. Prosecutors allege the man forced the woman into a car in Metz, France on 27 July, bound her hands and drove her roughly 1,000 km to an address in Nivå, Denmark. The journey lasted about 12 hours, during which the woman was denied food, drink and restroom access. He is also accused of spitting on her and threatening to kill both himself and the couple’s four children should she attempt to leave. The suspect denies the charges. He remains remanded until 13 August while investigations continue.
