Energisa Mato Grosso used drones equipped with thermal‑imaging cameras to conduct night‑time inspections of its distribution network serving Rondonópolis, Pedra Preta, Guiratinga and Tesouro. The thermography allows the company to spot abnormal heating in equipment and structures that are not visible to the naked eye, enabling early intervention to avoid power interruptions and reducing crew exposure to hazardous locations.

A separate court ruling in Rondonópolis ordered the utility to remove idle wiring from its poles within 30 days, imposing a daily fine of R$ 5 000 for non‑compliance. The injunction follows previous municipal notifications about abandoned cables that pose safety and visual‑pollution risks. Energisa reported it had already removed about 2 250 m (425 kg) of such cables from central streets, but the judge required a broader cleanup of all unused lines on public ways and sidewalks within five days.
