Energocom electricity purchase prices rose in July

Energocom reported an increase in electricity purchase prices for July, with the weighted average price reaching 133.86 euro/MWh. This represents an increase of 2.34 euro/MWh, or approximately 1.8%, compared to June's average of 131.52 euro/MWh.

During the month, Energocom purchased a total volume of 308,868 MWh from both internal and imported sources. Imports accounted for 75.26% of the total volume, while 24.74% was procured from local producers. Of the imported energy, 57.33% was obtained through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers in Romania and Ukraine. An additional 17.93% was sourced via the Day-Ahead Market through OPCOM and the Romanian Commodity Exchange.

The reported price does not include taxes, transport costs, capacity reservation, or other logistical expenses. The company noted that prices are influenced by new electricity market rules implemented on July 1, 2026, which require public service obligation providers to use competitive mechanisms. Consequently, Energocom is purchasing less energy during daytime hours and focusing more on peak periods between 07:00–11:00 and 18:00–23:00.
