Energocom management criticized over 400 million lei gas procurement strategy

Moldovan MP Alexandr Berlinschii of the Our Party has criticized the management of Energocom, alleging that 400 million lei were mismanaged. Berlinschii claims the funds were invested in state securities rather than being used to procure natural gas at more advantageous prices during the spring.

He argued that a more strategic approach to gas acquisition could have lowered consumer prices from the current 26 lei to potentially between 18 and 20 lei. Berlinschii characterized the management decisions as unprofessional and likened the government's crisis response to that of 'firefighters' who only react after a crisis has begun rather than preventing it. He further noted that Moldova has been in a state of emergency for over 800 days during the current PAS administration's tenure.
