Energocom names two candidates for general director position

The council of the state-owned energy firm Energocom admitted Sergiu Ceban and Eugeniu Buzatu to the next stage of the competition for the company's general director role, while a third applicant was rejected for not meeting the required conditions. Ceban is described as a manager and entrepreneur with experience in commercial management, operational development, digitalisation and the energy sector, including renewable electricity production. Buzatu, who has served as interim director since 13 December 2024 after the departure of Victor Bînzari, previously worked as a legal adviser and anti‑fraud officer in the State Fiscal Service.

Energocom is responsible for the procurement and supply of electricity and natural gas in Moldova. According to disclosed income statements, Buzatu received roughly 1.2 million lei in 2025 from salary, bonuses and other allowances.
