Energocom Warns Moldovan Citizens of Fraudulent Impersonation Attempts

Energocom issued a public warning that, in recent days, individuals have been impersonating the company's representatives at citizens' homes. The fraudsters claim to be verifying gas meters and request personal data, including identification and payment details. Moldpres reported the alert on 8 July 2026, urging the public not to disclose personal information to unknown persons claiming to act for the utility.

The company advises anyone approached in this manner to verify the request directly with Energocom and to report suspicious visits to authorities.
