Energy agencies in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire pursue strategic shifts

In Senegal, the National Agency for Renewable Energies (ANER) is working to accelerate its repositioning as a central driver for the country’s energy development. Director General Thierno Alia Mbengue recently met with the President of the Supervisory Board to align strategic visions and prioritize projects aimed at diversifying Senegal’s energy sources and promoting sustainable solutions.

In Côte d’Ivoire, Henri Pépin Krou has officially assumed his role as the Director General of the National Electricity Sector Regulatory Authority (ANARE-CI). Appointed by decree, Krou succeeds Amidou Traoré. His mandate focuses on modernizing the institution, ensuring transparency, protecting electricity consumers, and maintaining economic balance among sector actors. ANARE-CI is responsible for regulating the electricity sector, settling disputes between operators and users, and advising the state on energy policy.
