Energy companies in Montenegro and Bosnia implement debt settlement measures
In Montenegro, EPCG has launched a new debt repayment initiative for business customers in the ‘Other Consumption’ category. Running from October 1, 2024, until December 31, 2026, the program allows companies to settle existing debts under favorable terms. Customers can choose to repay 25, 33, 50, or 100 percent of their debt in up to 30 monthly installments, with a minimum monthly payment of 50 euros. As part of the program, EPCG will waive late interest and suspend forced collection measures, such as electricity supply suspension, provided that current bills and agreed installments are paid regularly.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a significant agreement has been signed between the Hungarian gas system operator FGSZ and the companies Energoinvest and BH Gas. The deal is intended to secure gas supplies in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and stabilize the operations of both Energoinvest and BH Gas. The agreement involves debt repayment scheduled over three fiscal years (2026, 2027, and 2028). Energoinvest Director Mirza Ustamujić noted that the agreement helps the company avoid potential bankruptcy and ensures business continuity, adding that FGSZ has waived interest accrued following an arbitration decision.
