Energy developments in Rio Grande do Norte: Gas discovery and pipeline expansion

Brava Energia has identified hydrocarbons in the Sanhaçu Field within the Potiguar Basin, located in the onshore portion of Rio Grande do Norte. Drilling at the 3-SAN-6D-RN well reached a depth of 2,230 meters, confirming that the field's main reservoir is saturated with gas. The company has reported the finding to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). Technical studies are now required to estimate the accumulation size, recovery capacity, and potential for commercial production.

In a separate infrastructure development, Potigás has completed the expansion of 51.1 kilometers of gas pipelines between Mossoró and Areia Branca. This R$ 33 million project, part of the Polo Gás Sal, aims to expand natural gas supply to the salt industry in the Costa Branca region. The new network is designed to serve nine currently operating companies and four additional businesses expected to start by 2028. The expansion includes a Pressure Reduction Station and utilized directional drilling for approximately 70% of the network to minimize surface intervention.
