Energy initiatives in Italy focus on renewable communities and nuclear research

In Italy, new initiatives are advancing both renewable energy sharing and nuclear research. In Cavallermaggiore, Confartigianato Cuneo is presenting the CER-a project, a Renewable Energy Community designed to allow businesses and citizens to share electricity generated from renewable sources, such as photovoltaics. This model aims to provide economic savings and access to incentives for local producers and consumers, regardless of whether they own their own energy production systems.

Simultaneously, ENEA is presenting the first-year results of the 2025-2028 Nuclear Research Program (PRN) in Rome. Developed in collaboration with the National Research Council (CNR) and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE), the program focuses on nuclear fission, fusion, training, and non-energy applications. The initiative seeks to consolidate a national supply chain and advance scientific and technological expertise within the nuclear sector.
