Energy providers secure major US data center power contracts

Major energy and infrastructure providers are securing large-scale contracts to support the growing power demands of AI data centers in the United States.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed a USD 673.8 million contract with Corban Energy Group to supply 1,000 MW of power generation systems. The deal utilizes 9.6-megawatt HiMSEN engines to support data centers operated by a major U.S. technology company. This follows a previous USD 425 million agreement with AEG for similar purposes.

In Texas, Energy Vault has secured its largest commercial agreement to supply 1.25 GW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and grid-forming power conversion systems for a hyperscaler AI data center. The project is designed to operate off-grid to bypass utility interconnection queues, which can exceed five years in some markets. The deal is expected to generate between USD 500 million and USD 600 million in revenue across 2026 and 2027.
