Energy savings through optimal home temperature settings

Adjusting home thermostat settings can lead to significant reductions in electricity consumption. According to the Argentine Secretariat of Energy, proper adjustments can reduce consumption by up to 20%.

A 2022 study by the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI) indicates that maintaining heating between 18°C and 20°C can lower energy use by 20% compared to higher temperatures. In summer, setting air conditioning to 24°C or 25°C offers similar savings, as every additional degree of cooling can increase consumption by 10%.

Beyond temperature settings, improving home insulation is essential to prevent heat loss in winter and maintain coolness in summer. Other efficiency measures include using ceiling fans to distribute air more effectively and employing smart thermostats to optimize heating and cooling based on daily routines.
