Energy Secretary Wright to announce refinery output measures to address high gas prices

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced that the federal government will unveil measures within days to assist American refiners in increasing fuel output. This move comes as national gasoline prices have risen to approximately $4.06 per gallon, a nearly 30% increase compared to last year.

During a visit to New Hampshire, Wright criticized global clean energy initiatives, stating that significant worldwide spending on wind, solar, and batteries has not substantially grown energy production but has instead made energy more expensive. He advocated for the approval of natural gas pipelines to address affordability.

In response, officials from the New Hampshire Electric Co-op noted that their solar array and renewable energy efforts have helped moderate costs for consumers. Senator Jeanne Shaheen criticized the administration's energy policies and involvement in the Iran conflict, linking them to rising electricity and fuel costs.
