Energy storage and security technologies expand in Brazil

As Brazil faces challenges with power grid reliability, new technologies are emerging to provide energy autonomy and security. Data from Aneel indicates that in 2025, consumers averaged 9.3 hours without power, with approximately 4.66 interruptions per consumer unit.

To address these issues, EcoFlow has announced the launch of the PowerOcean Plus in Brazil, to be showcased at Intersolar South America 2026. This hybrid inverter system is designed for high-end residences and condominiums, offering up to 29.9 kW of continuous output power. The system features a 20-millisecond switching time to ensure seamless transitions during outages, protecting sensitive appliances and central air conditioning.

In the security sector, companies like Verisure are evolving electronic alarm engineering to include redundancy architectures. Their new 'Blindagem Total' concept utilizes triple connectivity—4G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet—to prevent communication failures. These systems also incorporate internal battery monitoring to maintain operation of sensors and cameras during electrical outages.
