Energy Training Academy shortlisted for national award
The Dalkeith-based Energy Training Academy (ETA) has been shortlisted for the Training Initiative of the Year at the 2026 H&V News Awards. The nomination recognizes the academy’s Heat Network Suite, which serves as Scotland’s first dedicated education centre for district heating.
Co-founder Andrew Lamond noted that the facility is a collaborative achievement involving Midlothian Council and companies such as Vattenfall, SAV, and OCS. The academy, which operates as a social enterprise, focuses on upskilling engineers in gas and renewable technologies to support the transition to lower-carbon heating. The winners of the awards are scheduled to be announced in London this November.
