European towns host cultural heritage and history events

Various regions across Germany, Austria, and Belgium are hosting cultural events and open-house days focused on local history, heritage, and infrastructure.

In Germany, the ‘Tag des offenen Denkmals’ (Open Monument Day) will feature various activities under the theme ‘NETZwerke: Denkmale & Infrastruktur’. Cities such as Pforzheim and Rosenheim are offering guided tours of historical buildings, museums, and infrastructure like hydroelectric plants and old railway sites. Other local events include an open house at the Ampfing road maintenance depot and a community initiative in Wangen im Allgäu where residents share experiences regarding climate-friendly heating transitions.

In Austria, the Naturfreunde Deutsch-Wagram organized a historical tour of the old village and local landmarks. In Belgium, Eupen is hosting heritage events in the Gospert and Werthplatz areas, highlighting historical residences and the stories of their former inhabitants, including a resident recognized as ‘Righteous Among the Nations’.
