CFE reports rising debt and announces advertising partnership

The Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has reported a 3.8% increase in its financial debt during the third quarter of 2026, reaching 501,315 million pesos. This rise is primarily driven by a 5.5% increase in long-term debt. Additionally, the company's debt to providers and contractors has climbed to 80,535 million pesos, the highest level since 2018.

In a separate strategic move, CFE has partnered with the Ministry of Economy to use its billing infrastructure to promote the Buen Fin 2026 commercial event. This campaign aims to reach approximately 50 million households through electricity bills, specifically targeting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MiPyMEs) to encourage their participation and digital integration.
