Enerside files for insolvency amid solar sector crisis
Spanish solar energy company Enerside has filed for voluntary insolvency proceedings after failing to reach a restructuring agreement with creditors. The move follows a failed attempt in July to raise capital to stabilize the company's balance sheet. As a result, BME Growth has suspended the company's trading.
The company faces a severe financial crisis characterized by high debt and declining revenues. Enerside reported a net financial debt of approximately 62 million euros and losses near 14 million euros at the close of 2025. A significant portion of this debt includes a credit line from Andbank with a 15% fixed interest rate, which alone accounted for roughly 3.7 million euros in annual interest payments—exceeding half of the company's 5.85 million euros in revenue for 2025.
In addition to the insolvency filing, Enerside has initiated a collective redundancy procedure (ERE) affecting its 26 employees in Spain. While the company stated it aims to maintain necessary resources for continued activity, the insolvency process will now be overseen by court-appointed administrators, potentially leading to either a creditor agreement or the liquidation of assets.
