Enes Efendioğlu elected president of Turkish Chess Federation

Enes Efendioğlu has been elected as the new president of the Turkish Chess Federation (TSF) during the 11th Ordinary Financial and Extraordinary Elective General Assembly held in Ankara. The election followed the departure of former president Fethi Apaydın.

Running as the sole candidate, Efendioğlu secured 131 out of 145 valid votes, with 14 votes declared invalid. The general assembly saw the participation of 192 delegates. Upon his election, Efendioğlu presented a two-year action plan aimed at advancing Turkish chess.

Highlighting the nation's potential, Efendioğlu noted that Turkey currently has 1.8 million licensed chess players. His stated goals include implementing special programs to develop international champions, providing enhanced support for national teams, and expanding chess culture within schools and youth centers to foster professionalization.
