Enes Kanter Freedom calls for Cheryl Reeve's resignation

Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom has called for the resignation of Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve following her comments regarding transgender participation in women’s sports.

During a postgame press conference after the Lynx defeated the Indiana Fever 86-66, Reeve stated that efforts to exclude biological males from women’s sports amount to an attempt to make transgender people ‘not exist.’ Reeve, a four-time WNBA champion coach, has advocated for the inclusion of transgender players throughout the season, previously wearing a ‘Trans Kids Belong’ shirt during a televised game.

Kanter Freedom criticized Reeve on social media, arguing that protecting women’s sports is not an attack on any community. He challenged the coach to prove her stance by drafting him in the 2027 WNBA Draft. The debate follows a broader national discussion regarding eligibility in women's professional athletics.
