Eneva starts commercial operations at Azulão I power plant

Eneva and GE Vernova have commenced commercial operations at the Azulão I thermoelectric power plant in Silves, Brazil. Located approximately 330 kilometers from Manaus, the plant is designed to provide 295 MW to the National Interconnected System (SIN).

The project utilizes Eneva’s “Reservoir-to-Wire” model, which generates electricity directly at the source of natural gas production. The facility features a GE Vernova 7HA.02 high-performance gas turbine and is intended to enhance grid stability and support the growth of non-dispatchable renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar.

To integrate the plant into the Tucuruí–Macapá–Manaus high-voltage transmission corridor, the companies implemented specialized sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) filtering and torsional stress relay solutions. GE Vernova has also entered into a 15-year service contract to ensure operational reliability.
