Eneva's Amazon gas production strengthens northern Brazil's power supply

Eneva reported its second‑quarter 2026 operational results, highlighting that natural gas produced at the Azulão field in the Amazon basin supplied the Jaguatirica II thermoelectric plant in Roraima. The plant achieved 100 % operational availability, dispatched 60 % of capacity, and generated 166 GWh of gross electricity (157 GWh net). Total gas output from the basin reached 0.05 billion cubic metres, primarily directed to Jaguatirica II, reinforcing regional energy security despite the recent integration of Roraima into the national grid.

In the state of Maranhão, construction firm Elevação applied drone‑based LiDAR technology to map the connection of well clusters to the Gavião Belo gas production station, part of Eneva's 20‑inch, 114‑km gas pipeline project. The LiDAR surveys accelerated topographic data collection and helped streamline the engineering design, improving project timelines for the pipeline that transports gas from the Parnaíba basin.
