Chhattisgarh CGPSC paper leak: ED raids five locations and detains key accused

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids across five locations in Chhattisgarh, including Raipur, Durg, Dhamtari, and Jashpur, as part of an investigation into the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) recruitment scam. The probe focuses on alleged irregularities, paper leaks, and corruption during the 2020 and 2021 state service examinations.

Authorities have detained Utkarsh Chandrakar, the nephew of KK Chandrakar—the former Personal Assistant to the ex-Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. Investigators allege that Utkarsh Chandrakar and Dr. Vikash Chandrakar amassed over Rs 3 crore by promising leaked question papers to job aspirants. It is reported that approximately Rs 2.80 crore of these funds was transferred to Anil Chandrakar.

The investigation suggests that the influence of former government officials was used to facilitate the bribery and ensure the fraudulent selection of candidates for senior positions, such as Deputy Collector and Deputy Superintendent of Police. The ED's actions are being carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
