Enforcement Directorate conducts raids and arrests in multiple Indian money laundering probes
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted several high-profile operations across India involving searches and arrests related to money laundering and terrorism-linked investigations.
In connection with a June petrol bomb attack on a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi, the ED launched searches in Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Karnataka. The investigation, which stems from a National Investigation Agency (NIA) case, is looking into illegal financial transactions. Authorities previously identified suspects with alleged links to the ISI-funded Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan (TTH).
In a separate money laundering case, the ED arrested Amit Ganguly, Director of Ganguly Home Search Pvt Ltd, in Kolkata. The investigation involves the fraudulent acquisition and transfer of immovable properties through forged documents and manipulated records. Ganguly is reportedly named in approximately 23 FIRs.
Additionally, the ED seized assets worth over Rs 6.35 crore from premises linked to the ARSS Group and the AMR/AMRL Group in Odisha and Hyderabad. The probe concerns unpaid loans totaling Rs 1,111 crore involving SREI Infrastructure Finance and SREI Equipment Finance.
