Enforcement Directorate raids GMADA and IAS officer in money laundering probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches in Delhi, Chandigarh, Mohali, and Ludhiana on Tuesday as part of a money laundering investigation. The raids targeted the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and the office of Vikas Garg, the Principal Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The probe is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following several FIRs registered by Punjab Police. The investigation focuses on alleged corruption within GMADA, specifically regarding auction irregularities and the waiver of external development charges and interest payments owed by builders and developers.
