Enforcement Directorate searches Kadapa MP's premises in murder-linked money laundering case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at multiple locations in Hyderabad and the YSR Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. The raids targeted premises linked to YSR Congress Party MP Y. S. Avinash Reddy and his father, Y. S. Bhaskar Reddy, as part of a money laundering investigation.
The probe is connected to the 2019 murder of Y. S. Vivekananda Reddy, a former state minister and uncle of YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy. The ED is investigating allegations that approximately 4 crore rupees were transacted in connection with the murder.
The agency's actions follow a case and charge sheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). While one team searched the MP's residence in Kokapet, Hyderabad, another team found the residence in Pulivendula, Kadapa, to be locked. Searches were also conducted at locations associated with other accused individuals, including Arip Sunil Yadav, Devireddy Shivashankar Reddy, and Yera Gangireddy.
