Enfrentados: Marfil to premiere on Prime Video in September

The Spanish film ‘Enfrentados: Marfil’, based on the novels by Mercedes Ron, is scheduled for release on Prime Video on September 9. The production stars Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego García.

During the filming process, the lead actors used music to inhabit their characters. García utilized dark, atmospheric soundtracks from composers such as Jóhann Jóhannsson and Cliff Martínez to achieve a specific mental state. Expósito focused on 1980s music to connect with the story's aesthetic, specifically citing Stevie Wonder’s ‘Part-Time Lover’. Expósito’s personal connection to the song led to her proposing its inclusion in a scene where her character prepares for a date, which also included an improvised dance.

The film follows the story of Marfil Cortés, who is kidnapped and released without explanation. Her father, a prominent Spanish businessman, hires a bodyguard to protect her. While the relationship begins with friction, the two eventually develop a romantic connection during their time in the United States and their subsequent return to Spain.
