Engel to showcase E-Mac 200 for medical component production
At the Fakuma 2026 trade fair, Engel will demonstrate the E-Mac 200, a fully electric injection molding machine designed for the high-volume production of medical auto-injector components. The system is optimized for cleanroom environments where space efficiency and high output are critical.
The E-Mac 200 features a 2,000 kN clamping force and a wide distance between columns to accommodate complex molds. In a live demonstration, a 32-cavity mold will produce components weighing just 0.396 grams using random polypropylene with a white masterbatch, achieving cycle times of less than ten seconds.
To ensure precision and minimize waste, the machine utilizes the iQ weight control system to adjust injection volume in real-time, compensating for melt viscosity fluctuations. Additionally, the Engel validation assistant uses data from iQ assistance systems to evaluate process stability and support the validation of manufacturing windows.
