Engerberth Tapia and son attacked in shooting in Callao

Salsa singer Engerberth Tapia and his young son were injured during an armed attack in Callao on Saturday, September 12. Two individuals on a motorcycle reportedly fired multiple shots at the artist's vehicle, with some reports suggesting the truck sustained up to 18 hits.

During the assault, Tapia lost control of the vehicle and crashed near the central median. Both the singer and his son were transported to the Hospital Nacional Daniel Alcides Carrión for medical attention. While his initial condition was reported as reserved, family members later confirmed that both are stable and out of danger.

The attack caused significant damage to the vehicle and panic among local residents and business owners. Criminalistics experts and the National Police are currently investigating the incident to identify those responsible.
