Engineer no Mikata adopts JPYC stablecoin for salary payments
Engineer no Mikata, a System Engineering Service (SES) provider, has announced it will begin paying salaries and rewards to employees and contractors using JPYC, a Japanese yen-pegged stablecoin. Under this new system, eligible staff can choose to receive all or part of their compensation in JPYC, which is sent directly to their designated public blockchain wallets. The company aims to provide engineers with practical experience in Web3 technologies.
Separately, JPYC Inc., the issuer of the stablecoin, announced that its first Chief Technology Officer, Hanae Ono, has officially registered as a professional female shogi player with the Japan Shogi Association as of September 1, 2026. To celebrate this milestone, JPYC Inc. has established an internal ‘JPYC Shogi Club,’ with Ono serving as its advisor. The company noted that Ono, who joined the firm at age 16, contributed significantly to its early technical infrastructure before pursuing her professional shogi career.
