Engineering Chamber Awards honor top Czech infrastructure projects
The 22nd annual Engineering Chamber Awards, organized by the Czech Chamber of Chartered Engineers and Technicians (ČKAIT), recognized outstanding achievements in Czech civil engineering. The ceremony, held in Prague, honored four major projects: flood protection measures on the Svratka River in Brno, a suspended bridge near Fáblovka in Pardubice, a transport ramp in Vsetín, and the residential transformation of the Žitný mlýn in Boršov nad Vltavou.
In addition to the main construction categories, the chamber named Vladislav Hrdoušek and František Mráz as ČKAIT Personalities for their contributions to bridge diagnostics and railway construction, respectively. This year's competition featured 70 entries, including 67 completed structures and three unrealized projects, with a jury selecting 36 finalists to be evaluated on functionality, technical complexity, safety, and social benefit.
