Engineers India Limited signs MoU with DGMA to modernise India's maritime infrastructure

Engineers India Limited (EIL) and the Directorate General of Maritime Administration (DGMA) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 24. The agreement establishes a framework for EIL to provide engineering, technical advisory, project‑management and consultancy services for the planning, development and modernisation of maritime infrastructure projects across India.

The scope of cooperation includes feasibility studies, infrastructure planning, technology integration, capacity enhancement and the application of digital and sustainable solutions. The partnership is intended to support DGMA – formerly the Directorate General of Shipping under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways – in strengthening India's maritime capabilities and aligns with the government's vision of world‑class maritime infrastructure as a driver of economic growth.
