Thomas Tuchel rejects player rotation requests for England

England manager Thomas Tuchel has rejected calls from Premier League clubs to rest players during the upcoming international window. Following a 2-3 defeat to Spain in their Nations League opener at Wembley, Tuchel emphasized that he will not negotiate player minutes with club managers, calling the idea of selective participation “madness.”

Tuchel expressed a desire to maintain a consistent starting lineup, aiming to field at least six or seven players from the previous match to build responsibility and trust. He noted that while the congested schedule is challenging, he intends to be proactive rather than calculating minutes or conserving energy.

The team faces a demanding schedule, with upcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia. Regarding specific player welfare, Tuchel mentioned that precautions would be taken with Jude Bellingham following consultations with medical staff, but reiterated his commitment to a competitive approach for the squad.
