Stephen Fleming appointed England Test coach, praised by Brendon McCullum

Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand captain, has been appointed as England's new Test head coach, taking over from Brendon McCullum later this year. McCullum, who remains in charge of England's limited‑overs sides, said the split coaching model will allow both coaches to focus on their formats.

Speaking at Lord's, McCullum described Fleming as “like me, but better,” highlighting their long‑standing friendship, former teammate relationship and business partnership. He praised the England and Wales Cricket Board for securing Fleming’s commitment and expressed confidence that their close collaboration will improve England’s performance across all three formats of the game.
