England Coast Path expands to become world's longest coastal trail

The King Charles III England Coast Path is set to become the longest managed and signposted coastal itinerary on the planet, spanning over 4,300 kilometers. Officially launched by King Charles III in March, the trail follows the English coastline through cliffs, estuaries, marshes, and fishing villages.

Notable sections include the Seven Sisters in East Sussex, characterized by white chalk cliffs overlooking the English Channel. To coincide with the trail's opening, a new natural reserve of nearly 1,500 hectares has been inaugurated, encompassing forests, floodplains, and estuaries to support local wildlife.

Other significant segments of the South West Coast Path include the route from St Ives to Penzance in Cornwall, which traverses maritime heathland and historic mining ruins. Travelers are advised to follow safety warnings due to coastal erosion and steep cliffs.
