Gabriel Langton Hospitalized After Fall in Commonwealth Games Gymnastics

During the men's team final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, 19‑year‑old English gymnast Gabriel Langton missed his grip on the high bar and fell head‑first onto the mat. Medical staff stopped the competition and rushed him to a hospital, where scans later showed no serious injury. Langton was released from the hospital the following day, expressing gratitude for the support and care he received.

England completed the routine and secured the silver medal behind Canada, marking the first time since 2010 that the English men’s gymnastics team did not win the Commonwealth title. Langton, who had been called into the squad as a replacement for injured Olympic champion Max Whitlock, missed the medal ceremony but will rejoin the team for celebrations.
