England manager Tuchel tests new tactical roles for Jude Bellingham

England manager Thomas Tuchel is considering tactical shifts for Jude Bellingham ahead of the Nations League match against Croatia at Rujevica. Following Bellingham's impactful cameo in a 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic, Tuchel expressed interest in utilizing the Real Madrid midfielder in more advanced roles.

Tuchel noted that Bellingham could function effectively as a 'number nine' or a central attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The strategy aims to allow Bellingham to attack the final line and enter the penalty area more frequently, providing support to captain Harry Kane. Tuchel described Bellingham as a 'natural goalscorer' who can create an advantage without disrupting the team's balance.

The tactical experimentation comes as England faces limited options in central striking positions, with Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney excluded from the current squad and Dominic Calvert-Lewin having limited international experience.
