England names 23-player squad for World Cup play-offs against Greece

England manager Sarina Wiegman has announced a 23-player squad for the upcoming Women’s World Cup qualifying play-offs against Greece. The two-legged tie is scheduled for 9 October in Crete and 13 October at Leicester’s King Power Stadium.

Notable omissions from the squad include forwards Chloe Kelly and Ella Toone. Wiegman stated that their recent performances had not met her expected standards, though she maintained her belief in their overall quality.
