England netball squad named for 2026 Commonwealth Games

England announced a 12‑player netball squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, scheduled for 25 July–2 August. Veteran Nat Metcalf, a 2018 gold‑medal winner and mother of a year‑old, returns alongside captain Fran Williams. Young defender Jayda Pechova, 21, becomes the squad’s youngest member after a standout season with Nottingham Forest, earning Player of the Year honors. The roster also features Liv Tchine as vice‑captain, Amy Carter, Eleanor Cardwell, Lois Pearson and other Thunder and Pulse stars.

Head coach Anna Stembridge highlighted the mix of experience and youth, noting England’s world‑ranking of third. The team will face Pool A opponents Australia, South Africa, Malawi, Tonga and Northern Ireland. Star shooter Helen Housby misses the Games due to a back injury.

England will look to build on its 2023 World Cup silver while aiming to retain its Commonwealth dominance.
