England rugby faces injury concerns after Alex Mitchell hamstring issue
England scrum-half Alex Mitchell has sustained a hamstring injury during Northampton Saints' 28-14 victory over Gloucester. Mitchell left the field after approximately 20 minutes of play at Franklin’s Gardens. Northampton director of rugby Phil Dowson confirmed the injury but stated the severity is currently unknown, noting the need for caution.
This injury adds to existing fitness concerns for England head coach Steve Borthwick ahead of the upcoming match against Australia at Twickenham on November 8. Northampton players Fin Smith and Archie McParland are also managing calf injuries. If Mitchell is unable to play, Jack van Poortvliet, Ben Spencer, or Harry Randall may be considered as options for the England squad.
