England reclaims No. 1 T20I ranking after sweeping Sri Lanka

England has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings following a dominant 3-0 series sweep against Sri Lanka. The final match, held at Old Trafford in Manchester, resulted in an eight-wicket victory for the hosts, who chased down a target of 125 in just 9.4 overs.

Jos Buttler led the charge with an unbeaten 62 off 32 deliveries, contributing to an 85-run partnership with captain Harry Brook, who scored 33. Brook was named player of the series, having scored 170 runs across the three matches. Sri Lanka was bowled out for 124, with Sonny Baker, Jofra Archer, and Will Jacks each claiming two wickets.

The victory marks England’s 15th consecutive T20I win over Sri Lanka and moves them ahead of India, who had recently held the top position. England now holds a record of 23 wins in their last 26 T20I matches.
