England women defeat Wales 70-6 in Rugby League World Cup opener

England secured a dominant 70-6 victory over Wales in their Women's Rugby League World Cup Group A opener in Perth. Despite an early setback where Wales' Paige Travis scored the Welsh side's first-ever World Cup try following English errors, England responded with 13 total tries.

Individual standout performances included Connie Boyd and Anna Davies, both of whom scored hat-tricks. Isabel Rowe contributed significantly to the scoreline, scoring two tries and nine conversions for a total of 26 points, equaling the record for the most points scored by a single player in an England women's match. Other scorers included Amelia Brown, Georgia Wilson, Hollie-Mae Dodd, and Jasmin Strange.

While Wales showed offensive threat in the opening minutes, England's defense and powerful attack ultimately overwhelmed the debutants. The win serves as a strong start for coach Stuart Barrow's squad as they aim to reach their first World Cup final.
