England's Saka fit for World Cup match against Ghana, Tuchel warns on hydration breaks
England coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that winger Bukayo Saka has recovered from his Achilles injury and is pain‑free ahead of the Group L World Cup clash with Ghana. Tuchel said, “Bukayo is getting better and better, feels no more pain and he is ready to go,” and noted that the entire England squad is available and injury‑free.
Tuchel also reiterated his criticism of FIFA’s three‑minute hydration breaks, stating they “interrupt and change the identity of the football match much more than I thought” by breaking momentum and turning the game into “four quarters.”
The match in Boston will decide the top spot in the group, with England having beaten Croatia 4‑2 in their opener and Ghana having edged Panama 1‑0.
