England's Reece James expected to play in World Cup quarter-final vs Norway

England manager Thomas Tuchel expects Chelsea captain Reece James, the national team's first‑choice right‑back, to be fit for the World Cup quarter‑final against Norway on 11 July 2026. James missed full training after a hamstring injury suffered in the group match against Ghana and has been unavailable for the knockout games against Panama, DR Congo and Mexico. His return would address England's right‑back shortage, created by Jarell Quansah’s suspension and other defensive injuries.

James, who bought a Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT in 2022, is also linked to the sport’s growing crypto ties, with Chelsea’s sponsorship deal with crypto exchange BingX highlighting the commercial dimension of his potential appearance on the world stage.
