English footballer Ajvan Toni charged with assault in London nightclub

Ajvan Toni, a 30‑year‑old English striker who plays for Saudi club Al Ahli, has been charged with assault after an incident outside a nightclub in London’s Soho on 6 December. The alleged attack left the victim with physical injuries. Toni, who recently returned from the World Cup where he started for England in the third‑place match, is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 September. His spokesperson said Toni is “shocked but will use the court to prove his innocence.” Toni’s career includes spells at Brentford, Newcastle and several loan moves before moving to Al Ahli in 2024, where he has scored 55 goals in 62 matches.
