English youth football: U18 and U21 league updates

Recent updates from English youth football leagues highlight various results across U18 and U21 levels. Bromsgrove Sporting’s U18 side was eliminated from the FA Youth Cup following a 5-2 defeat against Leamington Spa. Despite late goals from Tom Henry and Cody Baker, manager Dave Andrewartha noted a lack of quality in the final third and a need to improve defensive basics.

In the U18 Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur leads the southern division after an 8-2 victory over Birmingham. Other notable results include Southampton’s 7-4 win against Norwich and West Ham’s 5-4 victory over Brentford. In the north, Newcastle and Manchester City hold maximum points, with Manchester City securing a 5-1 win against Leeds.

Burnley’s U18s recently secured a 5-2 win against Wolves, featuring two goals from James Lewis. The team is scheduled to play Leeds next. Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s are set to face Coventry Copsewood at the UK Electrical Stadium.
