Engro Corporation appoints Junaid Iqbal as next President and CEO

Engro Corporation Limited has announced that its Board of Directors has approved Junaid Iqbal as the successor to Ahsan Zafar Syed for the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer. The leadership transition is scheduled to take effect in April 2027, following the completion of Mr. Syed’s current term.

Mr. Iqbal, who currently serves as Advisor to the CEO of Engro Holdings, brings experience from the technology, finance, and media sectors. His previous roles include leading operations for Careem in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, serving as Global Head of Careem Pay, and acting as CEO of Elixir Securities, where he managed significant privatization transactions.

Upon the conclusion of his term in 2027, Mr. Syed will transition to the role of Counsel to the Chairman of Engro Holdings to ensure institutional continuity. The board noted that this succession plan is intended to support the corporation’s next phase of expansion and long-term growth.
