Engy El Yamani joins evidence-based impact forum in Cairo

Engy El Yamani, Executive Director of the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund, participated in the ‘Evidence-Based Impact’ forum held at the American University in Cairo. The event was organized by the Sawiris Foundation and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL MENA).

The forum brought together leaders from the private sector, banking, and development institutions to discuss directing community investments toward interventions that create real, sustainable change. Discussions focused on shifting from measuring success by spending volume or number of beneficiaries to evaluating actual impact and resource efficiency.

El Yamani highlighted the ‘Bab Amal’ program as part of a strategic financial system for economic empowerment, specifically noting its role in providing financial assets to support persons with disabilities. She emphasized the importance of using data and global success stories, such as the Grameen Bank model, to develop effective social financing frameworks tailored to the Egyptian context.
