Enhedslisten proposes electric vehicle subsidies for rural households
The political party Enhedslisten has proposed a subsidy of 50,000 kroner for low-income households in rural areas to facilitate the transition from petrol or diesel vehicles to electric cars.
According to political spokesperson Pelle Dragsted, the support would target approximately 50,000 households earning below 80 percent of the average income. Eligibility criteria would include residing in areas with limited access to public transport and having owned a combustion engine vehicle for at least one year without owning an electric vehicle in the preceding 12 months.
The proposal carries an estimated cost of 2.5 billion kroner, which the party suggests could be funded through the introduction of a new corporate tax.
