Enis Bešlagić performs solo show at Sydney Opera House

Bosnian actor and comedian Enis Bešlagić has made history as the first artist from his region to perform a solo production at the Sydney Opera House. His autobiographical play, ‘Da sam ja neko’, was performed in Bosnian without translation or subtitles to a full audience of diaspora members and fans.

The 150-minute performance featured musical guests Amira Medunjanin and Nihad Mustafić Šerbo, with a musical segment dedicated to the memory of Halid Bešlić and Safet Isović. Following the performance, Bešlagić expressed gratitude on social media, noting that the event opens doors for other artists from the region to share their stories on global stages.

Having completed nearly 400 performances across more than 160 cities, Bešlagić is continuing his tour through Europe and has expressed an ambition to eventually perform on Broadway. He also reflected on his career, noting that despite facing a seven-year professional ban in the past due to his public stances, his commitment to honesty has ultimately led to his current success.
